Today we had our best cuddle yet with Connor. He had minimal desaturation periods where he gets very low oxygen saturation but when he did have them, he would bring the saturation back up on his own without the nurse making adjustments to increase his oxygen concentration. This is definite progress, especially since he is now on the CPAP ventilation, which is a little more work for him than the endotracheal tube. He was really calm during our cuddle together and seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. :)

He was switched this morning from the CPAP face mask to the CPAP nasal prongs for no other reason than his routine head ultrasound could not be done with the mask on. His belly is still a bit swollen but the NICU team is not as concerned as yesterday and is just monitoring it. It was so little concern that the x-ray they were going to take yesterday was cancelled. They are suctioning his stomach prior to every feeding to reduce gas and help prevent bloating. He is still tolerating feeds really well and his feeds were increased up to 9ml every two hours. Today I got to do some mommy things like change his diaper, take his temperature and wipe his mouth and eyes with saline and gauze. I finally feel like I can he with something! :) We asked if he had been measured lately, and were told that he is now 33.5cm long, which is 2.5cm longer than he was one month ago!

Our nurse today told us that he is almost big enough to start wearing clothes and that we can bring some in for him! He is still smaller than preemie size and he has to wear onesies that snap all the way up the front so that his tubes and wires can be put through the holes. We went shopping later that day and had so much fun picking out outfits for him!

I'm finding it very difficult to carve out time after our visits to write and post this blog. Mike has a concussion so I have been doing most of the driving to and from the hospital, which is when I would try to write most of the updates. I'm probably going to try to reduce the number of posts since there are not as many updates as in the first couple weeks anyway. Thank you to everyone for being so patient and for all your continued support of Connor's journey. I can't believe we are up to 11,500 page views!
