This is my first blog post for a few days because I have been at home sick with the flu. I did go in to see him on the 27th before I got sick. He was doing well and has been ever since.
He has been on 20ml feeds every two hours. They have added more calories to the milk because he has lost a little weight since being switched from the breathing tube to the CPAP mask. They actually switched him from the CPAP nasal prongs to the CPAP mask that he has had before. He lost weight because he is now having to work harder at breathing and uses more calories.
He has been between 28 and 42% oxygen the last few days. This is AWESOME. :)
His recent brain ultrasounds show no signs of permanent damage from being born so premature. THIS IS ALSO AWESOME. :)
He had an eye exam on the 29th to test for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) but his eyes are still too immature and cloudy to see anything. He will have weekly eye tests from now on until he goes home and probably for a few weeks afterwards.
Unfortunately, I left my phone in my coat before I scrubbed in to the NICU on my last visit so I didn't get any new pictures of the little man. :(
