Tuesday, November 25, 2014 aka THE DAY I GOT TO HOLD MY BABY :)

I FINALLY GOT TO HOLD CONNOR TODAY. In the NICU, they call it "kangaroo care." It took two nurses 10 minutes to transfer him from his isolette to my chest and get us both settled, but it was sooooo worth it. The nurses even took pictures for me. I almost cried. He seemed to like it too because his breathing was more stable during our hour-long snuggle than it had been all day on his own in his isolette. He did so well, that the nurse suggested I try to do some cuddles every time I visit, which for me is daily. He was given milk through his nasogastric tube at the beginning of our cuddle and got the tiniest hiccups half an hour later. :) Also, he smells sooooo good!
