Good news and bad news today but we think the good is outweighing the bad at the moment. Connor's eyes opened up overnight AND his ultrasound results of his brain came back, showing that his bleed is resolving on its own. :) This will significantly reduce the risk of longterm neurological side effects from being a micropreemie.

Unfortunately, the nurse last night found out that he has a scrotal or inguinal hernia-loops of intestine are entering his scrotum through a small hole (hernia) that shouldn't be there. They have stopped all feeding by mouth for the day to let his gastrointestinal tract empty a bit and relieve some of the swelling in his belly. He was quite agitated today because hernias can be quite painful so our nurse was putting him on morphine as we were leaving. His diaper is open to monitor the hernia.
