Connor is 7 days old today! Connor is still on the CPAP ventilator with a slight modification to help him breathe easier. He is on a high frequency oscillation ventilator (HFOV), which works by providing gentle pressure that keeps the alveoli or air sacs in the lungs open and then applies gentle shaking to keep the air constantly moving. It makes his chest look like its vibrating. The NICU team tried increasing his milk to 2ml every 2 hours last night but he spit up once last night so they backed him down to 1ml every 2 hours. Still waiting for a PICC line placement to replace the umbilical artery line. He seemed very comfortable today and slept the whole time we were visiting :)
